Alton Youth at StriveAid

Report by Dan Rainbird

Saturday afternoon, Alton FC’s youth team caught the eye of hundreds of spectators as they took part in the warm up game for StriveAid at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium, home of Worthing FC.

Alton found themselves pitted against some of the UK finest football based YouTubers & influencers. Although the crowd had come to see the technical ability of the internet stars, it was a well balanced Alton side that seized the initiative. Darcy Norkett put Alton 1-0 up in what would be an eventful afternoon for him. Ellis Collins doubled Alton’s lead shortly after with a composed finish.

The Strive Aid select managed to pull one back, but Norkett claimed his second putting more distance between the two sides.

The second half had seen some changes to the Alton side with streamer POVTheoo joining the Brewers as right winger.

Alton’s opposition claimed another goal towards the end as it finished 3-2 to Alton Youth, with the U18’s celebrating a dynamic display witnessed by an ever growing crowd.

Norkett’s afternoon wasn’t finished however, as he was selected to play in Gilberto Silva’s team for the main game of the evening. True to form, he scored in that game also.

Alton FC are very proud of how the lads represented the club at such a high profile event, and are delighted with the account they gave of themselves and the club. Well done all.
