If points were awarded for dominating possession and territory, then the visitors would definitely have come away from this game with a positive result.
Alton will again be kicking themselves for conceding two very preventable goals during the first half.
The home side took the lead on 10 minutes, forcing the ball home from a corner that was not dealt with.
Within minutes MacAllister thought he had levelled the scoreline but his header was cleared off of the line with the keeper well beaten.
He didn’t have to wait too long for another chance, breaking to the left of the penalty area he floated a lovely chip over the keeper as he advanced for 1-1.
Then right on half time Alton were left vulnerable to a fast break and the home side were left with a simple finish at the back post to retake the lead.
Alton pushed forward throughout the second half and whilst Woodcock in the Alton goal was practically a spectator until the very late stages of the game as they committed numbers to the attack, the Sheerwater goalkeeper dealt comfortably with everything thrown at him.
Small margins yet again left the visitors deflated.
