A tough day at the office today, but in the end 3 more points secured!

Started the game so well with and early goal from Teyla on her return from injury giving us a 1-0 lead after 90 seconds.

Unfortunately we were unable to capitalise on this and after some poor decision making and inaccurate passing we struggled to half time and went I with our solitary goal lead.

Like the first half, we struck early in the second half with Izzy calmly slotting home at the back post from a cross ball from Georgia.

The opposition, sticking to their game plan of being physical and relying on the long ball, continued to frustrate us before Izzy hit her second and our 3rd with an almost identical finish. This time assisted by Yas.

Credit to BTC, who didn’t give up and managed to draw a goal back after being awarded a penalty for a mistimed tackle in our area. 3-1. Again, we just couldn’t kick on and struggled to play our football, allowing the opposition to gain confidence and belief. This led to 2nd goal for BTC and a nervy last 10 minutes.

The ladies dug in and a well deserved goal for Mimi secured victory and the points.

Lots of improvement needed, but a lesson to take forward. Thank you to BTC and best wishes to them for the rest of the season.

Blackfield & Langley 2 - 10 Alton Ladies Development

Another good day at the office and the perfect way to say goodbye.

A bittersweet day for the Devs as they put in yet another superb performance against a very physical Blackfield and Langley team.

The game started extremely well with Lucy M putting us ahead within 3 minutes. Two more goals from Amelia and Lexie followed in quick succession. We looked comfortable, pinning back the opposing dominating the ball.

Blackfield began to come back into the game slowly; a couple of indecisions at the back and a lack of pressing saw them score two goals in five minutes pulling the score back to 3-2. The ladies did settle and another goal from Holly (first for the Devs) meant we went in at half time 4-2 to the good.

A few words of encouragement and advice at half time saw the flood gates open and a resurgent Dev team take the game to the home team.

Two more goals from Lucy completed her hat-trick.

Goals also from Lexie, Holly, Amelia and Keela secured a 10-2 victory for the Devs.

It was a well deserved three points and the perfect way to say goodbye to Wayne, our manager, who is leaving the Devs after two years in charge.

We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to Wayne for making this team what it is, a wonderful place to be a part of. We will miss your support, kindness and enthusiasm - not to mention your leadership and dedication.
