Match Reports From This Weekend
U10 Bobcats
The team enjoyed a great game with Liphook Lionesses. Great play by both teams and more positive progress for the Bobcats.
U14 Thundercats
An early start, away to Stoneham Jaguars with only 11 players was always going to be a big ask.
But a freshly cut, wet pitch was the girls worst enemy playing very heavy. With no subs the girls went all out on the offensive for the first 35 minutes. We took an early lead but Stoneham pulled one back very quickly, exploiting gaps that a tactical switch with moving to one up front and Amelia into defence, it gave a platform for the girls to score two more in the first half to go 3-2 up at Halftime. Courtesy of Jasmine and Maisie. In the second half, fatigue set in with a few girls not 100% and we suddenly found ourselves trailing 3-4 with 5 minutes to go, not what our hard work deserved.
In true Thundercats fashion they kept going and some great work down the wing led to a cross from Emily to Maisie who made it 4-4 with 2 minutes to spare. Phew 😅
Assists from Maisie, Amelia and Emily,
Goals for Jasmine and Maisie 2 each.
Couldn't have asked for anymore from all of the girls. Totton next week hoping for a full squad of 14.
The U16 Panthers headed off to Worthy’s in high spirits following last weeks victory. This was a game that we dominated so all feel a bit frustrated coming away empty handed. A goal from Aimee early on was followed by a number of saves from their keeper plus that darn woodwork kept getting in the way. We just couldn’t find a second. The opposition grabbed a goal not long before half time to equalise and the same pattern followed in the second half with eventually a winner for them. Holly M chosen as girl of the game by both the opposition and the Panthers.
Well done all 👏👏
