Alton U8-U12 Girls' Teams

14 SEP 2025

Match Reports From This Weekend

The mighty Alton Lightning took part in the U8 Winchester Flyers tournament. We had 3 players who had never played a match before Lena, Tayla-Mae and Eva & each one of them volunteered to take a turn in goal. It was a great opportunity for the girls to learn how to play in a competitive, but friendly environment. Well done to all the girls who came along & enjoyed themselves.

U10 Bobcats Played Camberley Red Leopards. An even contest that could have gone either way. We gave an excellent team performance with great link up play, sadly the finishing touch just alluded the girls but a really positive performance. Composed defending shone out this morning as well as the space created by great runs off the ball when in possession.

Meerkats U11 won their match with a hard fought game against a very well organised AFC Whiteley team. Goals from Mable & Gullia with Whiteley scoring a penalty. The girls worked their socks off in what was an even game with both teams giving everything.

The first league match of the season for the Meerkats U12, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start with a win. Starting strong from the off Jessie opened up the scoreline from a well worked corner. Lee rangers caught the girls napping & quickly scored to bring it back level. We held our nerve & went into half time excited to be in front. What came next was nothing short of a masterpiece. Having so many corners i lost count, a goal was sure to come! The girls played their socks off today not having any subs! So proud of every single one of them. 👏👏👏

⚽️ goals Aaliyah x2, Jessie, Emelia, Isla. Assists Jessie, Maddie x2

Well done everyone 😊⚽️
