Alton Ladies' Weekend Match Reports

29 Sep 2024

Alton Ladies 4 - 1 Stubbington Ladies

Our first team are through to the 2nd round of the Invitation Cup with a hard-fought win at home against Stubbington Ladies.

A fine left-footed finish from Caitlin gave us an early lead but the away side - with a strong breeze at their backs - equalised before the break.

Alton made the most of the conditions in the 2nd half and started to impose themselves on the game more and more.

We took a well-deserved lead through Dani before two late goals from Eva sealed the victory.

Thanks to Stubbington for a really competitive game and best of luck for the rest of the season.

Millbrook Dev 4 - 0 Alton Ladies Dev

Alton Devs lost today, 4-0 to a dominant Millbrook Devs side.

Despite the score line, Alton’s defensive resilience shone through, particularly in the second half where they only conceded once. Playing with just the bare 11 for the second week running, Alton battled valiantly, again having to finish the match with only 10 players for the final 15 minutes due to an injury.

There were standout performances from Megan (Hands) and Connie, who were excellent throughout, and a brilliant debut from Michelle, whose efforts earned her the Player of the Match award.
