Alton Ladies' Weekend Match Reports

16 Sep 2024

Alton Ladies 3 - 2 Liphook United Ladies

A good win for the ladies today, the first of the season after a disappointing first couple weeks of the season.

Goals today from:

Dani ⚽️ a great strike from the top corner of the box, over the keeper into the far corner after a nice set up by Rachel
Jodie ⚽️ a great ball through by Paz for Jodie to run onto, beat the defender and tuck past the keeper
Chelsie ⚽️ a 90th min penalty, taken well to win the game!

The ladies today were superb all across the pitch, everyone putting in a performance worthy of player of the match! But ultimately it was Chelsie who got player of the match after stepping up and handling the pressure of taking, and scoring, a late late penalty!

I’m thoroughly proud of the way the ladies battled today against a good Liphook side. The team came together nicely, from our young players to our more experienced players, all putting in one hell of a shift and supporting each other! It’s been a tough start to the season, and we know it will be a tough one, but the ladies showed today they’re up for the fight! Onto next week!

Thanks to Liphook for a great game. We wish you the very best for the rest of the season.

Alton Ladies Dev L - W Petersfield Town FC Women

The ladies fell to a well-drilled and more experienced Petersfield Town side today.

Despite the defeat, the ladies displayed remarkable resilience and determination, fighting for each other until the final whistle.

The match served as a learning experience, with Lorna, Katie Anna, and Alysha battling well in their first game of the season.

Lexie was named Player of the Match for her determined performance.

Looking ahead, the team is set to play their first-ever cup game against Pavilion Panthers next week, where they aim to carry forward the lessons learned from today’s encounter into the upcoming challenge.
