Match report by Dave Hawtin
For the first time in 5 months Alton will sit back and reflect upon a single performance well below the standards that they have set themselves and that has propelled them with the minimum off fuss into the battle for play off places.
In a fixture that like many was affected by the strong wind, Redhill capitalised on errors that ultimately led to all three goals.
The third goal at the start of the second half, when it would have been important for Alton to consolidate and build towards gaining a foothold, knocked the stuffing out of them.
It was a fixture where everything that they did throw at goal fell nicely and was dealt with really comfortably by the home keeper.
It is very tight in the play-off battle so Alton will need to quickly put this game behind them, take the confidence from an unbelievable run of form and believe.
Alton continue on the road this coming Saturday, travelling to another of the play-off contenders AFC Croydon, kick off 3pm.
