Leigh Keddle, First Team Assistant Manager

"While only in my second season at Alton, I’ve known Kevin [Adair] for many years and played under him, which is initially what brought me to the club. My role is to assist in the development of all players and continue to support the manager on/off the pitch and work well with other coaches and staff. There is an excellent youth set up at Alton, fantastic facilities and it’s an enjoyable club to be involved in.

Currently, on the pitch, my focus is on pre-season, which is a good mix of fitness and technical work before heading into friendly fixtures. Off the pitch I’m looking at more efficient ways for us to keep on top of the admin and analysis side. The step 5 leagues are highly competitive so attracting new and better players is a challenge.

The players at Alton are a pleasure to work with, right from the young talent coming through to the senior players. It’s a great atmosphere around the club. A lot of ability and positive attitudes from players and staff and I feel like the entire club is moving in the same direction.

Next season provides us with a new league and a new challenge. I’m looking forward to seeing how all the work we put in over previous seasons on and off the field move the club in the right direction."
