"I have been with Alton FC since June 2019 and I am the Men’s Sports Therapist. It’s my job to assess, treat, and rehab injuries as well as providing pitchside first aid. My aim is to keep the players injury free, and confident in their return to play should they pick up an injury.
We are currently SCAT testing all the players and putting together a mobility/activation programme that the players can utilise to ensure they are in the best physical condition they can be for the upcoming season.
All the players are great, they make working for them easy. Most of the challenges I face are mid-season when a few players start picking up knocks and injuries, it can be a lot for the players, and myself, when recovery doesn’t seem to go how we want it to. But when players are injured and you’ve helped them on their journey back to being able play it’s a great moment which makes my job very rewarding.
It helps that everyone at the club, in whatever capacity that may be, is so friendly and supportive. Every single person involved with Alton, in whatever capacity that may be, is so friendly and welcoming. There is support whenever you need it and everyone is so passionate about the team and the club it really is a joy to be a part of it.
I’m looking forward to getting underway with the season, and for games to start!"
