25 Mar 2024

Here’s your round up from the girls & ladies fixtures this weekend.

Alton Girls

Saturday 23rd March

Meerkats v Whiteley Wanderers
The meerkats drew in a fantastic game. Mabel scored a good team goal, with eally strong performances from Bella, Abi & Nell. All the players worked hard.

Thundercats v Southampton Girls
Thundercats won. Amelia & Emily put many crosses into the box, with the opposition goalkeeper making lots of great saves. 5 goals for Jasmine, 4 for Maisie, 3 for Sara & 1 for Amelia who was voted POTM. A clean sheet for our defence who worked extra hard against the opposition No 14 who was fast & had great feet.

Pumas v Southbrook Stingers
The Pumas lost 3-4 in a well contested game against a very physical team. The girls were amazing, never giving up. Great goals from Ruby, Ariana & penalty from Bella. Sophie was chosen as the POTM for her brilliant performance.

Panthers v Fluer de Lys
Another battling & determined performance from the Panthers. Unfortunately, our 10 players came away on the wrong end of a 1-0 result. The game was largely dominated by the Panthers, with some fantastic phases of play. The opposition chose Olivia as their girl of the game 🙌

Warriors v St Francis
A win against St Francis. Thank you to Sophie P & Jasmine for sharing goal keeping for the 1st half. We came out strong in the 2nd half with Lottie in goal & scored 6 goals with the final score at 11-6. So, 4 for Sophie H, 3 for Molly & 2 each for Willow and Sophie P. Some great assists including a fab one from Jasmine. All of the girls played well. St Francis named Willow as their player of the match.

Sunday 24th March

Bobcats v Camberley town
Bobcats fought valiantly against Camberley. A great goal from Bella H, fab defensive work from Blancia and Molly, & great attempts of goal from Paige. Etta made some solid saves whilst in goal! Good team work from our Bobcats.

Youth v Caterham Pumas
Youth team fought hard in a tough & physical game, came back from 3-1 down to 3 all but couldn’t quite find the deserved winning goal. Great game from the top 2 sides in the league.

Alton Ladies v AFC Portchester development team - Ladies lost 2-0 today.
A competitive battle today against a solid and very physical Portchester team who came out on top.
