Alton Girls and Ladies Weekend Roundup

29 Feb 2024

Here’s your round up from the girls & ladies fixtures this weekend.

Alton Girls

Saturday 24th February

Meerkats v Moneyfields U10 (H)
The Meerkats lost to a very good Moneyfields team. It was a fairly even game, with a strong performance from Ruby in goal. Mabel scored a very nice individual goal.

Thundercats v Colden Common U12s (H)
Thundercats won 6-0 against a much improved Colden Common team, whose Keeper made some fantastic saves.
Goals from Maisie, Sara, Tessa, Emily, Poppy and Amelia showed the depth the team has for scoring. A real highlight was a superb cross from Jasmine which was volleyed home by Tessa. Our defence kept a clean sheet with some great 50:50 tackles. Jasmine was voted player of the match.

Sunday 25th February

Bobcats v Mytchett Athletic U8s (H)
Bobcats lost on a cold foggy morning to Mytchet Athletic. The girls played really well, keeping together. Sophia had a great debut and player of the match was Blancia, who gave a defensive masterclass.

Ladies v Wights Eagles (A)
The Referee called the match at halftime due to the weather making the pitch unplayable and adversely impacting player safety. Match will be replayed.
