22 Jan 2024

Here’s your round up from the girls & ladies fixtures this weekend.

Alton Girls and Ladies Weekend Roundup

Saturday 20th January

Panthers 1 v Alresford town U14 0
A great night under the lights saw a wonderful performance from the team to deliver a 1-0 win over Alresford, a team that we have played many times but never beaten - until now!
The girls controlled the game, and despite some serious pressure towards the end of the game, they calmly saw the match out. Goal came from Caitlin, assist from Holly M.

Warriors 7 v Andover NS U16 1
We finally play on the artificial surface and boy do we make a statement! The game had everything:
> almost another Molly goal from kick off
> another 7 goals scored
> Jess on the scoresheet again with another goal from outside the box
> 2 goals for Willow
> 2 goals for Sophie H
> an own goal from one of our corners
> Molly back on the scoresheet to grab the 7th
> a few difficult challenges which our girls bounced back from
> Lilly showing her strength & resilience, taking a ball in the face but didn’t let it end her game
> a big shout out to Kaitlyn for showing great confidence
> AND Lottie for managing not to freeze
Thank you all for coming out and supporting the girls on a very cold morning. Our gratitude to Ian and Andy W for running the line. Final word to the girls for being the fantastic team we have the privilege to work with week in week out. Thank you all!

Sunday 21st January

Youth 2 v Beacon Hill U18 1
A tough game for the Youth Team today, no subs and a couple of injuries along the way, but the team held on to a 2-1 win. Goals from Molly and Sophie H.
