Alton Girls and Ladies Weekend Roundup

15 Jan 2024

Here’s your round up from the girls & ladies fixtures this weekend.

Saturday 13th Games

Thundercats D v Stoneham D
The girls dug deap against Stoneham who defended well and saved a number of brilliant efforts from Amelia, Jasmine, Emily, Sara, Tessa & Maisie. Poppy & Amelia pulled off some outstanding saves with Amelia keeping the ball out with one hand in the last minutes. Amelia was voted opposition player of the match. A solid defence display from Bella helped steady the ship. Girls remain unbeaten.

Pumas v Andover vixens U13
Their best performance of the season. Falon & Ruby linking everything together in the middle of the pitch. To win 6-0 shows just how much the girls have progressed and grown as a team. Bella & Falon were players of the game with goals from Bella (pen), Ariana, Eliza & Falon.

Panthers 4 v Tidworth town 2
A gritty 4-2 home win this week Goals …an own goal scored by the visitors followed by one each from Aimee, Caitlin & Daisy. A solid performance with the girls having a lot of changes thrown at them which they dealt with brilliantly.

Warriors 7 v Whitchurch Utd 2
An outstanding team performance giving the girls a well deserved victory. Amelia & Jess dominated the middle of the park. Some nice play down the left from Ellie-May. Sophie P was excellent down the right wing. Molly was heavily involved in every attack. Some excellent interplay between Molly & Sophie H resulted in a hat-trick for Sophie H. Willow worked hard out on the left she got her reward. Well done girls

Sunday 14th January

Bobcats L v Pirbright U8 W
First away game of 2024. The team lost, but played really well. Some brilliant saves in goal from Blancia (who also scored earlier in the match) and Layla. Molly set up one of our goals and passed nicely to her teammates throughout the match. Paige was nominated by Comets as player of the match. Great teamwork Bobcats!

Youth 7 v Staines Lammas 1
The Youth Team had another established performance at home against Staines. From the quickest goal of the season we pushed on to win. A brilliant team performance.

Alton Ladies 4 Havant 1
Havant & Waterlooville didn’t make it easy today and we couldn’t walk by without saying it’s one of those matches where the scoreline doesn’t reflect the effort & performance from our opponents. Alton Ladies worked hard though putting in a whole team performance, every single one of them doing their job and some to keep battling and pressing and came away with the 3 points. 2 goals from Eva, 1 from Jodie and 1 from Katie-Anna. Alton player of the match chosen by the coaches was Mimi who was quite simply superb today, she covered every blade of grass picking up responsibility and playing beyond her years. Well done Mimi brilliant performance.
