10 Dec 2023
Here’s your round up from the girls & ladies fixtures this weekend.
SATURDAY 9th Games
Meerkats (L) v Petersfield Town U10s (W)
Unfortunately the meerkats lost at home to Petersfield in their game. Isla scored and Jessie put in a strong performance.
Thundercats )W) v Eastleigh U12s (L)
Thundercats played Eastleigh in a top of the table clash. Our toughest game this season but the girls were outstanding in every position, pressed high, first to the ball and chased back when needed. Olivia in goal was commanding and quick out of her box. Defence were solid with crunching, brave tackles. Thundercats won 2-1 to go top of the table with a game in hand. Goals from Amelia who was very quick down the wing, a one two with Poppy and a shot that clipped in off the post and Sara who finished a great cross from Emily superbly.
Games called off due to weather:
Panthers v Fluer de Lys U14s
Warriors v Petersfield Town U16s
Pumas v Gosport U13s (A)
SUNDAY 10th Games
Bobcats )W) v Bourne Blades U7s (L)
Bobcats won against Bourne Blades in the driving rain. It was a great team performance, with all the girls working together and playing their part to get their first win. Goals came from Bella H, Asiya and Paige
Youth v Caterham Pumas U18s (called off)
Alton Ladies (W) v Rushmoor Community (L)
Today was a whole team performance and the work being done in training is really starting to come through. The back line were superb today, gave very little away and were compact and disciplined.
We took our chances extremely well in the first half, however Rushmoor didn’t make it easy today and in the second half they were organised and made us work hard to keep a clean sheet. Alton player of the match was chosen by the coaching team. Georgia S put in a great shift playing her first 90 minutes since coming back from injury. Congratulations Georgia. We must also mention Alysha who played in goal today and kept a clean sheet.
