Alton Girls and Ladies Weekend Roundup

SATURDAY 11th Games

Meerkats v Atalanta Sports U10s
The meerkats drew their game with a lovely goal from Maddy. Every player worked really hard and stuck to their individual job. Nice work girls.

Thundercats v Warsash Wasps
Thundercats lost 2-1 to a team a league above them in the cup. It was a competitive & very physical game. The opposition 2nd goal 2 minutes from a penalty shoot out sealed the game. Special mention to Sara scoring after superb link up play. Player of the match was Amelia who had a 60 minute battle with her opposite number up and down the wing. Bella once again kept a strong backline. Well done girls.

Pumas v Southampton Women
Pumas lost 6-2 to a competitive Southampton Women team. The girls were amazing, they played really well and gave 💯 Special notes to Amelia for being chosen girl of the game, Ruby for 2 well taken goals & Cara for playing her first ever 70mins for the Pumas, giving everything just like a Puma should. Well done girls.

Panthers v Clarendon Juniors
At half time, the Panthers were absolutely in the game at 3-3 with a goal from Aimee, and 2 from Daisy. It was an awesome display & the girls should be super proud of the first half. The 2nd half, our opponents upped their intensity & physicality, and were just a little bit quicker to the ball than us. The opposition came away 8-3 winners. Congratulations Panthers on our longest ever cup run.

Warriors v Overton U16s
A last minute change of venue and the team made the trip to Overton to secure a 4-1 win for the team. A brilliant team performance by all the girls. We are especially proud of how they communicate and support each other. A goal each for Ellie-May & Willow, 2 for Sophie H one of which was a penalty. Opposition’s player of the match was Willow. Onto the next round of the plate.

SUNDAY 12th Games

Youth v W&H United U18s
A impressive 4-3 win away. A brilliant display of possession & passing football. 3 goals from Molly C & 1 from Sophie H. A great game of football all round.
